The content of websites is widely accessed by millions of users of all kinds that led to the development of a separate branch of writing called ‘content writing’. Content writing specifically caters to internet users and is different from journalistic writing. Some basic differences are the use of easy words and the inverted pyramid style. The inverted pyramid style being, the most important point should come first. Content writing includes writing for websites, article writing, blog writing, writing for press releases, e-catalogues, e-books, SEO copywriting and other forms. Most articles of content writing are short, that is, vary from hundred to five hundred words and are clear, compact and easy to read.
Qualities of a good content writer
A good content writer should be able to convey thought and information in a concise manner through well structured sentences. The organization of words and paragraphs should be in a way that can be easily understood. This is extremely important as the internet is accessed by users of varying educational levels, intelligence and patience. Another format that is followed by good writers is that a single idea is usually expressed in a single paragraph.
There is always a lot of written material available on a particular subject on the internet. This means that your content has to be of good quality as it is in intense competition with numerous other articles. It is difficult to find quality content writers in this highly competitive market.
Content writing is increasingly popular these days as is evident from the large number of firms that have come up who cater to this service.
